Stained Glass Express is one of the nation's largest distributors of stained glass and supplies. In business for 25 years the company needed to revamp and upgrade its website to incorporate advanced SEO features and better showcase its many products and services. Furthermore the database used by the old website was out of sync with their retail POS system. Thousands of products had to be brought in line to establish consistency between the two main channels. The project required launching the new site in parallel with the old site. We had to create new content, transfer email and customer accounts, and migrate data. The site runs on X-Cart e-commerce software and includes calendar and slideshow elements. The site is used to announce events and classes in addition to regular product promotions.
Lennox Capital Management provides investment planning services along with group and individual insurance and benefit programs.
The site provides fast access to self-service client accounts. It also gives easy-to-follow links to relevant information on external provider websites. One challenge was to embed a secure log-in feature on the home page to take clients directly to their remotely hosted investment accounts. Since they are licensed financial advisers the site also had to meet strict regulatory guidelines.
O&P Glass is one of the largest commercial glass subcontractors in Maine. In addition it has a residential glass division that sells and installs vinyl windows, auto glass, and dozens of other products. On their old site these conflicting product lines were presented together, often confusing visitors about the focus of the business. The client wanted to boost visibility and present a more professional website to potential contractors in order to attract more opportunities to bid on projects in Maine. The solution was to create a new site with distinctive divisions showcasing the products and services aimed at contractors on one side and residential customers on the other. We also chose a new keyword domain name to locate the site files with a redirect from the old site. This with some other SEO measures instantly boosted the business in search engine results.
The original nalelaw.com website we designed for the Elder Law Offices of John and Mark Nale was working well for the firm. It met their objectives, showcasing their services and their community connections. It was also easy for their staff to update. Built in 2010, it's primary design was for desktop users. Being forward looking, the client wanted to make the site "mobile-friendly". They also wanted to feature an introductory video on the site. The solution was to recreate the site using responsive design with the help of HTML5 and CSS3. Every page on the site now works on any device, regardless of the screen size. The menu is simplified and important contact links are immediately available to enhance the typical usability requirements of mobile users. All the content from the old site can still be accessed with a click or two. We shot the HD video at their offices in Waterville using a script they wrote with our input. We then edited it and formatted it to take advantage of the new HTML5 video tag for cross-browser compatibility.
Winslow Pharmacy, Fairfield Pharmacy, Unity Pharmacy, and Oakland Pharmacy all share common ownership. Yet each has established its own unique community brand. The challenge was to create an online presence without the benefit of a single unifying brand. The solution was four microsites. Each site has its own URL to optimize search engine results. Since the keywords are already contained in the names of each store, four separate domain names were purchased - winslowpharmacy.net, oaklandpharmacy.net, fairfieldpharmacy.net, and unitypharmacy.net. The .net top-level domain was chosen since .com was taken for some of the preferred names. Each site was built with a consistent look and feel and with customized content and images. The navigation scheme links all four sites together seamlessly creating the impression of a single site regardless of which URL was used as a point of entry.
Riverbend at Sunday River is one of Maine's top 4-season vacation condo destinations. Our client needed a new site to promote rentals and condo sales, as well as improve online reservations. Navigation and important sales copy appear in the upper left of the page to minimize scrolling and making navigation easier across a variety of platforms. The slide show features views of unit interiors, while the string of static photos highlights vacation and lifestyle possibilities. The site has many other features including integration with a robust reservation system.
RMS Ornamental Iron is Western Maine's premier custom steel fabricator. This creative client's work can be found throughout Maine and beyond. Products include railings, gates, ring signs, and custom logo park benches. In business for over 10 years the client needed a basic website to showcase his work, provide general information, and solicit inquiries form potential customers. The home page has a slider, featuring examples of the wide range of product designs. Visitors can then follow links to view a more detailed gallery, to get directions, or make contact.
